The broadcasting and streaming landscape continues to evolve, but one thing is for certain: soccer fans in the United States have incredible access to the sport. And the numbers support it. For the first time since 2017, the number of games broadcast on linear, cable, and satellite TV surpassed 3,300.
How do we know? As we’ve done since 2015, we tracked all 365 days in 2025 to see what—and who—was featured. Thanks to Live Soccer TV‘s daily compiling, here are the headlines: over 3,300 games, over 1,000 teams, more than 100 different leagues and competitions.

European Competitions: More Than Half of All Broadcasts
If we remove all international friendlies and competitions (which accounted for 12% of total broadcasts), European soccer continues to account for over half of all regional competition broadcasts. Spain’s La Liga was the most-featured competition with France’s Ligue 1 and the English Premier League also among the five most featured. In fact, 60% of the ten most-featured competitions were based in Europe, accounting for over a third (34%) of all games broadcast on U.S. television in 2025.
The Western Hemisphere: More than 40 Competitions Featured
North and South American soccer competition accounted for over 42% of regional broadcasts, demonstrating the importance of both local and hemispheric competition to U.S. audiences. Liga MX was once again the most-televised competition in the Western Hemisphere and the second-most televised competition overall. The league was one of only five competitions with more than 200 games broadcasts, along with La Liga, the Premier League, Ligue 1, and Uruguay’s Primera Division.
From Copa Libertadores to The Soccer Tournament (TST) and Leagues Cup to Copa do Brasil, we counted more than 40 different competitions from North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America totaling more than 1,200 games.
The Global Game: Games from Africa and Asia
Viewers in the U.S. had access to leagues in more than just Europe and the Americas. By our count, there were more than 160 games across 10 competitions featuring senior and youth national teams, as well as professional club teams from the African and Asian confederations. Roughly two-thirds of those games came from the combination of the Saudi Pro League and the African Cup of Nations—the most-broadcasted competitions across both regions.
Weekend Warriors & Seasonal Patterns
No surprise here: weekends feature the most games during the week. In fact, Saturday and Sunday combined to feature more than half (52%) of all television broadcasts in 2025. Beyond the weekend, Wednesdays were the busiest weekday, largely due to European midweek fixtures and cup competitions.
When it comes to seasonal patterns, February through May all sit in the 300+ games range, capturing the heart of the European seasons plus Champions League knockout stages. After the summer dip, there was another run from August through November where all months featured nearly 300 games or more as new seasons kicked off. But even the “quiet” months weren’t so quiet last year. January, June, July, and, December all featured nearly 200 games or more.
Soccer on U.S. TV numbers since 2020
By our count, only five days in 2025 didn’t feature a soccer game broadcast on television, meaning 99% of the year featured at least one game daily. Crazy! With so many viewing options available to American fans in 2024, how have things changed over the course of the decade?

Number of games? Up. Number of teams? Up. Number of competitions featured? Up. Last year was a tremendous year for soccer on U.S. TV with new heights reached in the 2020s. In fact, the number of competitions featured has gone up every year, speaking not only to the diversity of options available to stateside fans, but also to the introduction of new competitions on the local, regional, and global slate.
